more technically oriented employees who have data that is not yet in Splunk and who want to find out if Splunk could help them analyze this data

- classroom workshop (PT)
Technical requirement:
own notebook with a virtual Linux installation in which you can install Splunk
Prior Knowledge:
- Linux command line interface (no matter which distribution, required)
- basics of network technology (TCP/IP, required)
- basics programming/scripting (nice to have)
- basics databases (no matter if SQL, MySQL or others, nice to have)
- regular expressions basics (required)
Procedure:
- installing Splunk
- run simple searches in Splunk’s internal logs, generate simple statistics
- demo: inclusion of a new data source (log file) using 3 examples in increasing complexity
- data normalization, searches and statistics
- hands-on, importing and configuring your own data, data normalization, searching and statistics with your own data up to the first dashboards.
